Inspection Report from Reading Youth Offending Service

The use of Rapid English in Reading Youth Offending Service was recently inspected as part of the joint YOT inspection programme. The final report states:
"The Rapid English Project, developed in Reading YOS, is an innovative way to assess and develop the literacy and communication skills of children and young people who have offended. It involves regular tutor supported sessions, based at the YOS, using specially developed ICT programmes to improve writing and communication skills. Other YOTs are showing interest in developing the use of this. Feedback and evaluation confirms that this programme is effective in making significant difference to the skills, motivation and self-esteem of participants."
